This week's recipe couldn't have been more simple. There were only 4 ingredients - apple, puff pastry, butter, and brown sugar. Given the simplicity of the recipe, I considered trying to make my own puff pastry for the first time. Then we had a gorgeous weekend and I decided to spend my time outside enjoying the weather instead of hanging out in my kitchen. I do hope to give it a shot soon though!

this surely looks delicious! worth a try :)
your apple tartlet looks really good, and I'm sure it tastes even better with vanilla ice cream! ;-)
Yay! Dessert...these look good..
You did a great job! Very pretty!
It looks beautiful, Tracey! Good choice to spend the weekend outside enjoying the weather, in my opinion. The weather in DC has been so off and on that I think you have to enjoy it when you can. There will be plenty of cold winter days for puff pastry! I haven't made mine yet but I'm planning on having one for dessert this evening.
Yes I agree this was an easy and wonderful recipe. Your tartlets look great!
Very nicely done Tracey! Looove the goo the brown sugar made at the bottom of the tartlet! Mmmm... must have been pretty yummy! (at your house, you could have caught me eating that goo from the bottom of all the tartlets, with a little spoon! LOL)
Your tartlets look yummy! Especially with ice cream. Wasn't it nice not to have a sinkful of bowls?
I seriously loved these!! Yours look amazing!

Beautiful tartlet.
I wasn't able to cut my apples right....sigh.
I really enjoyed this for the sheer simplicity of it. I almost wish I had done a whole apple, it looks so much nicer than what I did.
Thanks so much for baking with me this week, Tracey! So glad you enjoyed the tartlets! :)
Absolutely gargeous! And delicious. I loved this recipe.
Picture perfect, Tracey!! Great job. I have to say that I think this was the simplest recipe yet. It was tasty for breakfast, too.
Your tartlet looks perfect! Almost symmetrical! I'm definitely impressed :)
Great looking tarts! We had ours with vanilla ice cream too - definitely the way to go. A great recipe for a beautiful weekend, for sure!
I'm a HUGE apple fan too. Your tartlet looks absolutely perfect!
These look lovely and isn't it fun to have something so simple to make once in a while! And yours look so delicious!!
The fact that this was so simple made it even more delicious, I think!
Beautiful tart. I did the same thing and then added the syrup, but then you know that cause you stopped by.
Thanks.
I loved mine with vanilla ice cream too! Those look yummy!
Adorable little tartlet! I'm glad you enjoyed the sun this weekend. I would like to attempt puff pastry at some point, but I still had leftover frozen from your SMS pick.
Your little tart looks really perfect!
Your little tartlets look so perfect Tracey! Great job.
I agree this was a very simple and delicious recipe. Your tartlets looks perfect! Nicely done!
Looks great! I love how much the pastry puffed around the apple.
It was so easy it didnt seem right did it? I loved this dessert as well. Your puff pastry rose perfectly ;)
Your tarts look yummy! Elegant, simple, delicious + individual servings = perfect dessert for company. Especially that simple part!
Your tartlet looks wonderful! I was wishing for some ice cream when I ate mine.
A lovely perfect tart! Re-doing mine is on my "to do" list. Great job!
I totally agree - this was one of my favorite recipes because of its ease and great taste! Yours looks great!
Glad you liked this one so much - we needed some apple desserts in our lives after all the chocolate. Yours look great.
Good call on adding more brown sugar halfway through! I need to remember to do that next time I bake these babies up! Pictures look scrumptious! Great job!

I wish I added more brown sugar as mine migrated to the bottom of the pastry (not a deterrent to gobbling it up, I'm just saying). Yours looks perfect! I'm going to have try this one with apple.
Your pastry looks PERFECT!!! Like right out of the book! Alas, I had a hard time with this one for some week. Can you believe it?! It was so easy and I messed it up! haha!
Your tart looks gorgeous.
Save making your own puff pastry for a cold day. I guess if you have air conditioning it's a different story, but working with pastry in a hot kitchen is really a challenge. Your tarts look great!
So pretty! I couldn't believe how simple and delicious it was.
I agreed about the elegant but simple, and delicious. Yours looks perfect and so symmetrical.
